Cubillas' double-double lands him Liga MB Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

28-year old forward Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Santa Tecla and receives a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 16.
He had a double-double of 29 points and 20 rebounds, while his team outclassed Santa Ana (#6, 5-7) with 32-point margin 119-87. Santa Tecla maintains the 2nd position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Santa Tecla has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. In the team's last game Cubillas had a remarkable 84.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Santa Tecla, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Cubillas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 21.3ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 16.6rpg) and averages solid 3.7bpg and 65.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Deikel Sanchez (G-1996) of Metapan. He is Nicaraguan guard in his first season at Metapan. In the last game Sanchez recorded impressive double-double of 34 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Metapan to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Chalchuapa (#10, 1-11) 109-83. Metapan's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 6-5 record is not bad at all. Sanchez is one of the most experienced players at Metapan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Marc Montavious (206-C-1990) of Quezaltepeque (#5). Montavious showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, seventeen rebounds (!!!) and seven assists in the last round. He was a key player of Quezaltepeque, leading his team to a 101-86 easy win against the lower-ranked Brujos (#8, 3-7). The chances of Quezaltepeque ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Montavious could help Quezaltepeque to bring them higher in the standings. Montavious has a great season in El Salvador. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.0rpg (5th best). He also has 1.9bpg and FGP: 53.7%.
